On the little, big birds that are a part of this brief world history.

Kievskaya

She was a very colorful bird
Not like every other bird
But with feathers that ressembled
All the possible colors
Of Ara araraunas.

In all the expeditions we've made
We haven't found any other bird like her.
Not even when we saw the Great auks.
The Great auks were so beautiful
But humans
Made them scarce and rare like ambers.
Until the day came.

Unfortunatelly, the same happened
With Kievskaya.
One day the news spread about
Where tourists could find her.
Day by day, more people saw her
And wanted to buy her for themselves.
The issue was that she was a unique bird
And there was only one Kieveskaya.

As she realized about what was happening,
She started to hide in a cage and
With that, the tourists started to search
For other birds.

Kieveskaya then told all the birds that
Hiding was the only way to survive.
The only way to remain free, safe and sound.

The birds didn't listen to her advice,
Thinking she was jealous of the attention
They were now getting and all the special foods
That tourists would offer them.

It was too late.
The darkness came and birds were
Persecuted and kept as souveniers,
Only because they wanted to fly freely.

As the birds started to see she was right,
Kieveskaya organize an assembly

To speak about the issues faced
By every bird...Aras, the then exisiting Great auks,
The seagulls, and even the pigeons.
All the birds came from miles and miles away
Searching for her solution.

That's when they decided to build the big
City of birds which would be in a mountain
Very far away from humans.
It'd be a safe place for every bird,
Including the eagles that made a peace treaty
With the small birds so that everyone could remain
Safe in the mountain.

Népliget

I left the bus station and crossed the avenue

To reach the other side.

I walked into the park and I felt the fresh air

Looking for me.

The peace of mind and the energy of my veins

Recovering from the messy traffic of our daily lives.

Where it feels like every minute the cars are crashing,

The airplanes are departing, arriving.

And the motorcycles run forever.

Then, you appeared in the middle

Of the park as a reminder that you could be

Anywhere, everywhere.
No matter how far I went, I just couldn’t run away from

The fact that I had to face reality.

Népliget was always there even when
I didn’t know he would be.

As the people sat on the benches around the park,
I saw him coming and singing

As if it was a new dawn.

Something special that was about to appear.
But it was too early.

So I waited 30 minutes.

At 1pm a few other birds came and spoke words
I haven’t heard of.

Of a language I couldn’t speak.
But with a tenderness that I could relate to.
And the feelings of the sunny lights that
I could warm with.

MAINE

I met her in the chateau

On the top of a mountain.

Where most people don’t go.

She told me that

After walking for 10 months

And speaking with the gods

That gave her a sense of
Conquest and the freedom
From wanting to run away.

This kept her pursue of

Reaching the top of a mountain.

Not any mountain,

But one of the many mountains,

That was a mountain.

As she came to this land to find
The reason behind the highlands

And the air circulating around.
The ideas of the mind

That circumvents each of us.

Maine knew things better

Than I could ever even think of.

And with Maine,

We could always search for the
Ruins of our future past selves.

And deep into the stories behind our ancestors that came to

This region before us.
And all the skulls and teeth that were lost

For a few coins and their names not engraved

In eternal history.

Just stories of an unforgotten past.

PYOTR!

Just like humans that have been

Enslaved with chains

In their hands for their whole life,

The birds have set free from their cages.

In an awe of feelings for their future selves.

After centuries

Being enclosed

In these small spaces,

The birds are finally free.

As they freed from this very long, long time

In prison,

They also lost the access to easy resources

Such as shelter, water and food.

But what isn't mother nature if not

All of the resources that a bird would need?

I asked this to Pyotr!

And as he was flying he showed me

That all the birds were doing the same.

The birds then helped me to fly.

And they took me with them.

I was floating in the air like a cloud

Moving and disappearing in the sky.

We saw the seas, the forests, the mountains, the deserts

The rain, the snow, the warmth of sunshine.

And everything in between.

We were flying to all different places one
Could ever imagine.

Pyotr then told me their tales
In his own language
As if I could understand

Every part of it.

As we flew to the final destination,
I also went to see where it was.

Suddenly I found the birds were not just the ones

Who took me with them.

There was a whole new world of all

Different species of other birds.

It was an universe of colorful feathers

And daring hearts
That have broken free

To live their own paradise.

In a huge hidden mountain

Far away from these continental lands.
